I was professionally diagnosed with Chronic Dry Eyes in early 2020, but I became aware (by myself) and began researching my condition. Along with improving my self-care regimen, I used Restasis. Restasis works by regulating inflammatory processes in the eye that may be affecting tear production.
With the help of my doctor and Restasis, here is what I did to fix my eye problems in less than 4 months!

Dry eyes and Photosensitivity
- Use Restasis to help increase your eyes’ natural ability to produce tears, which may be reduced by inflammation due to Chronic Dry Eye.
- Drinking enough water – knowing how much water your body needs is essential to maximizing relief. Drinking too much water = more visits to the bathroom, which means you should drink less water filtered water via reverse osmosis is what I enjoy drinking daily
- Gently scrub your eyelids and express hardened medium and remove crusty dead skin.
- Quality blinking – fast blinking doesn’t give your eyelids enough time to close
- Get enough sleep – Sleep Debt exists. Your body needs enough sleep to repair itself. You’ll know when you have paid your debt once you don’t need to sleep as much. Make sure you’re getting good sleep quality as well
- Get some sun – 10 minutes a day is all you really need sometimes to improve blood circulation and encourage your body to release dopamine.
I’ve been on Restasis for about 6 months now and definitely notice an improvement in my dry eye symptoms. If you’re a dry eye sufferer, find an eye doctor near you to see if Restasis is right for you!
