- Plan a family garden – Teaching your children the basis of gardening will help your home garden to thrive! Gardening is a great physical development activity.
- Camping in the living room – Unplug and spend the night camping in your living room with your kids. Make memories that will stick with you and your children for the rest of their lives.
- Make slime – There are so many different kinds of slime recipes to experiment with. The best thing about slime is that you can make it with common household items.
- Play with sidewalk chalk – Whether it’s hopscotch or writing a kind message to your delivery drivers, chalk is a fun, colorful way to keep the kids entertained.
- Have a tea party – Many kids love hosting a tea party for their dolls and stuffed animals. It’s a time of imagination that any parent loves to take part of. Take that to the next level and invite yourself to the party.
- Have a family music night – Have your kids ever expressed interest in music? You can use music to calm and soothe children and to express love and joy.
- Have a puppet show – We know that it’s tough for some kids to sit still for more than two minutes. But chances are that they can make it through a puppet show! It’s the perfect first-time theater experience for children. You can use socks, or paper bags to make fun characters!
- Make a time capsule – Creating a time capsule for kids is a fun activity that the entire family can enjoy. You can include a current newspaper, a take out menu, a family photo, and encourage your child to write a letter to their future self!
- Make decorations, curate a playlist, and throw a family dance party – ‘Nuff said! Just cut loose and have fun!
- Join a virtual summer camp – Many organizations are starting to offer a fun, small group environment for students to try something new this summer.
